Actor Kim Byung-ok will return to the drama! He will play as the father of Kim Hee-sun in the new SBS drama Alice. Kim has refrained from acting after his drunken driving controversy.
On November 5th, the media reported that Kim Byung-ok will appear in the SBS new drama 'Alice'. According to a source, Kim will play as the father of the female lead Yoon Tae-yi played by Kim Hee-sun.
Kim Byung-ok made his debut in 2003 in the movie 'Classic'. He had been known as a veteran actor a number of plays and movies. The movies of 'Old Boy' and 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' directed by the film director Park Chan-wook were highlights of his acting skills. In the movie "New World", he even drew attention in spite of his minor character as a beggar.
On February 12, the actor was caught in drunk driving. The actor was caught by the police as the report came, "I saw a car parked in a strange way." He was driving drunk in the ground parking lot of an apartment in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do. Kim's blood alcohol level was 0.085%, which was higher than the limit of licence revoked.
Kim attempted to evade the charge by saying he had a chauffeur service. However, he was found to have driven more than 2.5km while being drunk.
On May 12, he was sentenced to a fine of 2 million won by the Incheon District Court.
'Alice' is a fantasy romance drama about a man and a woman who have been separated by death come to meet again transcending time and space. Actor Ju Won and Kim Hee-sun are the heroes of the play.
