Actress Lee Jung Eun had an interview with reporters on December 4th about her recent role in "When the Camellia Blooms." She said that she made many efforts including not wearing make-up to play the role of a mother.
The actress shared that she's only 10 years younger than her co-worker Hyo-jin, but it was okay since she has also acted as the mother of someone 5 years younger than her in the past. She just wanted to do her best so that people will believe her acting.
She also said that Gong Hyo Jin has helped her a lot during the shooting. Other actors were also supportive of her, so it wasn't really tough. "I wore a wig for my role as a mother, so I looked older. I didn't wear makeup, so my face was revealed more naturally. I wore no color to make up," added Lee.
Lee Jung-eun is sad as she has some memories with motherhood while doing this work. "My mother had an accident a few years ago. I wished my work would turn out to be good, and I told my mother. She usually went to the temple. She broke the hip joint while bowing at the temple and received a surgery that was critical for her life. Mother always fulfills something beyond my level," said the actress.
Lee played the role of Jeong-suk, the mother of Gong Hyo-jin in "When the Camellia Blooms." In the play, Lee Jung-eun showed her devoted motherhood toward her daughter and made her viewers cry.
