On the 7th day of January in 2020, MBN's new variety show called "Friendly Variety Show" scheduled a press conference that was held at Grand Ambassador Seoul.
The show is led by Producing Director Kim Sung who is the PD who replaced PD Yoo II Young from "2 Days and 1 Night." Several feature members are included in the show such as Choi Soo Jong, Defconn, Kim Joon Ho, Lee Yong Jin, Sam Hammington, and many more.
Kim Joon Ho, commonly known as Charlie Kim, is a South Korean comedian, singer and TV persona. Kim Joon Ho is considered to be one of the best and funniest comedians in South Korea. He has been awarded two Top Excellence awards and a Daesang Award at the KBS Entertainment awards both in comedy and variety divisions of his career. Kim Joon Ho was interviewed about the third season of "2 Days and 1 Night" which he stopped filming in from last March due to gambling allegations.
The comedian talked about how he wanted to start the new year with a fresh mindset of a newcomer. He does not want to talk about the past, but he can never avoid it forever. He says that a lot of things have happened in the past year especially with the issue in Season 3 of "2 Days and 1 Night."
Kim Joon Ho states that he is very remorseful to the staff members, the actors and all the crew who were involved in the issue. Then Producing Director Kim Sung said to gather all the members, crew, actors who had a hiatus or had quit the show and start a new one. He also mentioned that he chose to do this program because of Lee Yong Jin who is also a South Korean comedian and singer who approached Kim Joon Ho while meeting with PD Kim Sung and said: "You'll join me right?"
Lee Yong Jin touched Kim Joon Ho's heart. On the day of filming "2 Days and 1 Night", Kim Joon ho was about to tear up when he saw all the members, actors, crew and even the food-truck lady. The fact that he was able to work with them made him teary-eyed and very happy.
Kim Joon Ho also revealed that when filing, he found the location and the food very important, but he found most essential out of all is the people that he is working with. He says that he has worked with several people in the industry such as Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Jong Min, Defconn, and other members for five years.
He has collected many beautiful memories with them but he is very much excited about making new memories and working with Choi Soo Jong, Sam Hammington, and other foreign friends. The reality show entitled "Friendly Variety Show" involves competitions between Korean casts and other international cast members who love Korea.
The show will start its showing on January 7 at 11 PM. KST.
