On the 10th of January, YGE has released an official statement through several media outlets stating that Son Ho Joon has renewed his contract with them. YGE said, "the actor Son Ho Joon has just renewed his contract with us and is good for one year."

The actor first signed with YG Entertainment in 2016 and has continually renewed his contract with the agency. It was also announced that his co-actor Cha Seung Won has also renewed with YGE.

On the other hand, several artists chose not to renew their contracts with YG. To name a few, they are Kim Sae Ron, Go Jun Hee, Yoo Byung Jae, and Lee Hi.
