Actor Song Seung Heon is officially going to star in an upcoming MBC drama! The actor is returning to MBC for the first time in over seven years!
Last January 30, 2020, an industry insider informed Ilgan Sports that Actor Song Seung Heon is part of the cast as the role of lead character Kim Hae Kyung in the upcoming MBC Monday-Tuesday drama titled 'Shall We Eat Dinner Together?' (Working title). King Kong by Starship which is Song Seung Heon's agency, at first denied that he was confirmed for the role, but did say that he is considering taking part in the said drama.
However, this February 6th the MBC network has confirmed that Song Seung Heon will be playing the lead star of its new Monday-Tuesday miniseries "Shall We Eat Dinner Together?" Still a working title. The drama is said to premiere in the month of May 2020. The story of this drama is based on the webtoon with the same name and title. "Shall We Eat Dinner Together?" is about a couple who carry out a secret relationship over food. It will focus on the story of a man and a woman who have grown jaded about romance after experiencing painful heartbreaks. Then at the right time, they both recovered their ability to feel the emotion and begin to find love again over food.
The drama will be directed by producing director (PD) Go Jae Hyun, who has worked with Song Seung Heon on his previous projects like "The Player" and "Black," while the script will be written by Park Jae Bum, the writer of the hit drama titled "The Fiery Priest."
The role that Song Seung Heon will portray is a psychiatrist and food psychologist named Kim Hae Kyung. He analyzed people by observing them while they eat and uses a practice that is not common for treating his patients through food and meals. He is actually gentle and mild-mannered when treating his patients but when it comes to critiquing food he is actually brutally honest.
Last month, "Crash Landing on You" star Seo Ji Hye was also confirmed to be in talks to portray the female lead of this drama. A source from her agency reported that actress Seo Ji Hye is positively looking over the casting offer for titled 'Shall We Eat Dinner Together?' (Working title). And according to Ilgan Sports, Seo Ji Hye was being offered to portray the role of Woo Do Hee, a member of the planning team for a YouTube channel called 2N Box. In the drama, Woo Do-Hee has dated twice after turning 20 years old but eventually, she becomes unable to feel romantic love after experiencing getting her heart broken terribly.
