Actor Kim Soo Hyun will be making his come back to the small screen in an upcoming drama!
This February 7th the announcement has been made that actor Kim Soo Hyun would be appearing tvN's newest the fantasy romance genre "I'm Psycho but It's OK." It's been said that the young actor will be receiving the amount of over 200 Million KRW (167,000 USD) per episode.
Kim Soo Hyun is reported to earn a lot more since he will also earn some percentage from the profit from the licensing fee for Netflix and product placements in the drama.
This is considered as the highest per-episode salary in Korean drama history. The former record-holder was Lee Byung Hun for the 2018 drama 'Mr. Sunshine' in which he received 150 Million KRW (126,000 USD) per episode.
Kim starred in SBS fantasy romance series My Love from the Star alongside Jun Ji-Hyun from the year 2013 to early 2014 at the same time, he also released two singles for the drama's soundtrack titled "In Front of Your House" and "Promise".
It was reported that the drama had over three billion hits on the Chinese streaming website iQiyi. Kim Soo Hyun became one of the most in-demand endorsers having 35 product endorsements. He made headlines and his popularity exploded all throughout Asia. At the 7th Korea Drama Awards, he won the Daesang or "Grand Prize" award which is the highest award for television.
In the latter half of the year, the young actor was present at two international sports events. On August 16th, 2014 he was able to sing the official theme song "Light up the Future alongside several artists at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games held in Nanjing, China.
In the opening ceremony of the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea he was part of the event as well together with actor Jang Dong-gun, Korean opera singer Ahn Sook-sun and people from 45 nations, they expressed the message of "One Asia" at the second part of the highlight stage. In the year 2015, he also starred in KBS' variety drama "The Producers" penned by My Love From the Star writer Park Ji-Eun.
Once again Kim Soo Hyun won the Daesang award at the 8th Korea Drama Awards4th APAN Star Awards and the 2015 KBS Drama Awards for his amazing acting performance. Kim then starred in the action genre film titled 'Real', which was released way back June 2017.
There were reports released in December 2019, that Kim Soo Hyun is leaving KeyEast to create an agency with his cousin. Ang the latest this year 2020, he signed with Gold Medalist together with Kim Sae-ron and Seo Ye-ji.
His latest drama is the tvN drama Psycho but It's Okay playing the role as a psychiatric aide. This is Kim Soo Hyun's first small-screen appearance in five years since The Producers.
