Hwang Jung Min comes back with his first drama in eight years!
On February 20, KeyEast Entertainment released an official statement "Hwang Jung Min will be back and will take the lead role of Han Jook Hyun in the upcoming drama 'HUSH' that we are currently producing."
The story of the upcoming film is about an office drama and its newspaper reporters that will show us their everyday encounters with struggles and ethical crisis. The drama is based on the novel "Silent Warning."
Hwang Jung Min will play Han Jook Hyuk, a skilled reporter who went through all various newspaper departments but still bothered by the difference between justice and reality.
"This project is what we have been working so hard for a long time, so we are grateful that Hwang Jung Min chose this project and that our products will do its best to prove him that we are worthy of such a versatile actor," said Park Sung Hye, the CEO of KeyEast Entertainment.
Hwang Jung Min debuted in 1994 taking part in the films "Ode to My Father" "Veteran," The Himalayas," "A Violent Prosecutor," and "The Wailing." He made over 30 movies. In 2009 he starred in two dramas "The Accidental Couple" and 2012's "Korean Peninsula."
"Hush" is set to premiere sometime this year, the production is still in the process of selecting their leads and supporting actors.
Previous reports in January 2020 Hwang Jung Min and Ha Jung Woo talks about their Drama comeback films after several years of hiatus. So fans anticipated they are cooking some very good news this second half of the year.
It was on January 16, when OSEN reported that Hwang Jung Min and Ha Jung Woo will star in the upcoming drama "Suriname" which is about Korean who became a drug lord in Suriname, South America.
Hwang Jung Min's management SEM Company shared a statement to the media He is still reviewing offers and they ill notify the public once a certain decision is made.
The film "Suriname" is directed by the top movie director Yoon Jong Bin who worked with Hwang Jung Min in his 2018 film "The Spy Gone North."
When decided this is gonna be Hwang Jung Min's comeback drama in eight years, and Ha Jung Woo's first after 13 years.
Aside from "Hush" this drama "Suriname" is earning a lot of attention with its marvelous production cost with nearly 40 billion on or $34.5 million per episode cost is likely to be the highest among the dramas and films "Mr. Sunshine" and "Arthandal Chronicles."
"Suriname" is still in the works but plans to air in 2021.
Hwang Jung-min is a South Korean Actor. He is one of the most paid actors in South Korea. He started his career in a musical theatre, then made his acting debut in Line 1 back in 1995.
