The Forest Entertainment which is Actor Lee Shin Young's agency has filed criminal charges against his former Classmate for spreading malicious rumors about the actor.
Earlier this month there were rumors released that actor Lee Shin Young was an infamous executioner of school violence. This February 20th the actor's agency Forest Entertainment announced through their official post that last February 18 they filed a criminal complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office versus the wrongdoer that was referred to as "A."
"A" is the person who spread malicious rumors and false information against Lee Shin Young. Forest Entertainment shared that "A" admitted he spread false information with the purpose to defame victim Lee Shin Young for the reasons like jealousy. The accused "A" admitted that it was a misunderstanding and issued an apology to Lee Shin Young. He asked for the actor's forgiveness by voluntarily deleting all the false postings.
The young actor regarded his actions to be sincere and although the damage has already been caused by this incident was serious, he was kind enough to forgive A's wrongdoings. However, the accused instantly changed his attitude and blackmailed Lee Shin Young's father by saying that he wrote a letter of apology but did not receive any money. He plans of revealing everything in the online community.
"A" continues the threat and said that if they don't intend to reach an agreement with him, then they should not contact him. And they will see each other at the station. This ongoing crime committed to Lee Shin Young stained his image, mentally traumatized him, and caused the advertising model contract he was pursing to back out.
The actor's agency decided to file criminal charges against "A" for the ongoing slandering and blackmailing Lee Shin Young even when he forgave him the first time.
Forest Entertainment agency expressed that they hope through this incident the accused 'A' will become more mature and lead a normal life while truly repenting on his mistakes. Moving forward, the agency issued a warning and stated that they inform that the agency will take legal action without any room for tolerance against acts that spread 'false rumors' and cause their actors to be hurt and the responsibility for all acts of spreading malicious rumors and slander lies with the perpetrators.
We hope that false accusations and rumors against Korean Artists would stop. We think that Lee Shin Young deserves his justice.
The young actor Lee Shin Young made his acting debut in the web drama "Just One Bite" released in 2018. He obtained popularity for his role in "Crash Landing on You" which ended last February 16. Currently, he is confirmed to star in a new KBS drama titled "Contract Friendship" together with Kim So-hye this 2020. He was born on January 24, 1998. Some of his dramas and films include Crash Landing on You, "It's Okay To Be Sensitive 2" and "Just One Bite 2."
