According to the reports, actor Hyun Bin had done a secret donation of 200 million won to Community Chest of Korea. This is a non-profit organization that launched in 1988. One of the largest welfare organization and government-sanctioned charity in Korea. He intended to aid the fight of his countrymen in dealing wth the Coronavirus that is now rapidly increasing in numbers. Hyun Bin from his past interviews shared that he always expresses his feelings in different ways and keeps his thoughts by himself.
An article from The Korea Times narrate Hyun Bin as "an actor of a few words" wherein he prefers to stay hidden from the limelight. There is no wonder why he chose not to make a press release about his donation. Hyun Bin donates 200 million won but keeps it hidden from the management of his agency. He asked the Community Chest of Korea organizer to keep silent about it. A week after his letter of encouragement through Instagram own by the agency was the time he made the kind donation to the said organization. His letter content was his words wishing everyone to be on their best especially those affected by the virus.
The letter that was written on the 21st of February read as:
"You might be spending day after day anxious and worrying over the Coronavirus disease 2019 which is occurring all over the world and throughout Asia including China and Japan as well as Korea. I'd like to ask after your health at least by writing to express my worry over whether the place you are at is safe.
As we've always overcome difficulties by cheering each other on despite difficult times, I hope the Coronavirus disease 2019 passes by as soon as possible.
I also appreciate those working tirelessly day and night to eradicate the virus, and I will cheer them on until the end. Furthermore, I sincerely wish for the quick recovery of those suffering from its infection.
Again, I hope all those reading this can maintain their safety and health from the virus and I will pray this incident safely passes by."
