He played the spoiled son in "Itaewon Class," the one who drove his luxury car and hit the bar at night. His character made Park Sae Roy struggle to fight for his love. Actor Ahn Bo Hyun gained a lot of attention in his latest role as Jang Geun Won. His character as a villain paved the way for his performance be recognized by many.
"Itaewon Class" series holds 16 episodes and most of his appearances are dealt with as the antagonist. The show ended with high ratings and in the last two episodes, he showed his remarkable acting.
Ahn Bo Hyun, in his latest post, gave us a glimpse of how he cares about the show. He posted pictures with his co-actors and behind-the-scenes of "Itaewon Class." In his caption, he expressed that he misses the show.
Browsing through Ahn Bo Hyun's Instagram, his photos are a representation of his normal life away from the camera or the role he portrays on screen. He is seen all-smiles, exuding the vibe entirely different from his antagonist role.
In one of his previous interviews, he shared how things changed with his career and personal life. More people gave time to check out his social media platforms, such as his YouTube page. His followers inflated and they became more interactive as well.
"These days, the viewers of the drama have been visiting my channel. The number of comments has grown by a whole decimal place," he said.
"My parents don't usually comment on my career. They barely talked about 'Itaewon Class' up to episode 9, but after episode 10, they began to go around bragging about it," he added.
The actor also mentioned his younger sister who apparently is a fan of the webtoon of the same title where "Itaewon Class" was based on.
"Even before I started filming, she would worry about the webtoon and tell me, 'You could get hate if you do poorly'. She is now changed completely and doesn't say anything," he narrated.
Ahn Bo Hyun described his relationship with his co-star Park Seo Joon, who was the leading man of the show. He said, "Since we are the same age, it was comfortable, and our conversations flowed well. Whenever we had scenes together, we would discuss how to portray it, and he would accept all my suggestions."
He added, "Although there were only a few scenes with Sae Roy and Geun Won, the impact of their meeting was strong. that 's why I think it was like that."
When he received the project offer, he was hesitant and questioned himself if he would be able to portray the character well. "Itaewon Class" is different from the previous projects he had.
"After every project, I am the type to completely embody the character and drama. 'Itaewon Class' is especially different. It's the first time that I'm receiving such praise as an actor and this extent of response. Before starting the project, I spent a lot of time analyzing my character. That all returned as positive feedback, so I feel really happy," he said.
