It has been confirmed that actor Kim Bum officially joined the cast of tvN's upcoming drama, The Tale of Gumiho!

On Friday, April 10, the TV network tvN announced its confirmation that the actor will star in the fantasy-drama, together with Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah. As we all know, the handsome actor was discharged from his military duties just last month, and "The Tale of Gumiho" will mark as his much-awaited return to the small screen. This will also be Kim Bum's first drama in over four years since the actor last appeared in SBS's Mrs. Cop 2 back in 2016.

The Tale of Gumiho is featured as an "urban fantasy melodrama," that will narrate the story about a male gumiho, a mythical nine-tailed fox, portrayed by actor Lee Dong Wook, who has settled in the city and the bold and fearless producing director (PD), played by Jo Bo Ah, who is determined to hunt the gumiho down.

On the other hand, Kim Bum will be portraying the role of Yi Rang. He is the half-brother of Lee Dong Wook's character, Yi Yeon. Yi Rang bears a deep contempt for humans even though he lives among them. He is considered as the most dangerous gumiho there is. Yi Rang usually seduces humans by making a promise to grant their desires, for which, in return, they will end up paying a hefty price.

The producers of The Tale of Gumiho expressed that actor Kim Bum will be featuring a surprising transformation through his acting in this particular drama, since he possesses both tenderness and strength amongst his charms.

The series is already scheduled to broadcast sometime in the second half of 2020.

Kim Sang-bum was born on July 7, 1989. The actor is more known by his stage name Kim Bum. He is a talented South Korean actor, dancer, singer and model, who became famous through his role as So Yi-jung in Boys Over Flowers.

In 2012, the actor's agency issued a statement announcing that he was suffering from degenerative arthritis due to the dramatic weight-loss he experienced after training for his role in the JTBC cable drama Padam Padam.

On November 1, 2013, it was revealed that Kim was dating his Goddess of Fire co-star, Moon Geun-young. Then, reports were released that the couple has ended their 7-month-long relationship. The agencies of both parties confirmed the break-up news.

You can also watch Kim Bum in his most recent drama, Mrs. Cop 2.
