It has been confirmed that a documentary about Sulli will be produced. The late singer-actress passed away at the age of 25 last year that shook the K-pop and entertainment industry.
As per the report of XportsNews on July 3, the docu will include interviews with the late star's acquaintances and friends. The MBC network will handle and produce this, but there have been no exact dates of release yet.
"We are currently producing a documentary about Sulli. There has been no broadcast date that is being decided yet," MBC stated.
Sulli's life story will also be covered, as well as interviews with her former labelmates and other key people from SM Entertainment.
Sulli started her career in the entertainment industry in 2005 when she was 11 years old. From being a trainee, she debuted to girl group f(x), until she went solo and released her album.
Sulli was known to be brazen with her thoughts that are not common among K-pop artists and Koreans in general.
In the past years, she herself encountered bitter experiences from rumors, which were among the reasons why she took a break for a year from the entertainment industry. The late idol also suffered from mental distress due to ceaseless malicious and rabid online remarks.
In 2018, Sulli became one of the hosts of the program known as "The Night of Hate Comments," which tackles Korean celebrities and their experiences receiving hate comments and cyberbullying.
Sulli did not hide her struggles about mental health issues, cyberbullying, and even her romantic relationships. Many K-pop stars are banned from doing it as part of their contract and their management, but the singer-actress talked and expressed her thoughts openly to the public.
Sulli was firm and insisted that women should be free to dress as they pleased but she was criticized for not wearing a bra in public.
Friends, including her former f(x) bandmates, and family mourned for her. The documentary will be a tribute to the actress as Sulli's death anniversary approaches on October 14th.
