"Sweet Home," Netflix's upcoming series starring Song Kang and Lee Do Hyun as the main cast, along with Lee Jin Wook and Lee Si Young, have finally released its first teaser and stills!
The said drama is based on a webtoon of the same title written by Kim Kanbi and Hwang Young Chan, which has caught the attention of many audiences for its one-of-a-kind plot, where intrinsic human desires turn people into monsters.
It tells the story of a reclusive high school student Cha Hyun Soo (played by Song Kang). After losing his family in an accident, he moves to a new apartment, but he did not expect to encounter different scary and terrifying moments.
Meanwhile, the character of a smart and cool guy, or known as the brain behind the team, Lee Eun Hyuk, will be played by "18 Again" star Lee Do Hyun. Lee Jin Wook will play as Pyun Sang Wook, a former detective who hides a secret from his past, making people misunderstand him as a gangster. Lee Si Young will be playing the role of Seo Yi Kyung, a former firefighter who worked in the special forces.
"Sweet Home" is directed by Lee Eung Bok, he was also the former director of the phenomenal dramas "Goblin (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God)," "Mr.Sunshine," and "Descendants of the Sun."
The newly released teaser shares a glimpse of the drama's settings, special effects, and what the audience is expected to see from the upcoming series.
The teaser starts with a dark abandoned apartment building video while monstrous and loud sounds create great suspense. The residents who are stuck from the outside of the apartment are infested with monsters, and isolated people in the building are continually battling to save their lives, fighting in fear of finding ways to survive their everyday life while being surrounded by people who have turned into monsters.
At the end of the teaser, Cha Hyun Soo looks scared, standing in the dark waiting for the monster with a spear in his hand. The short suspense-filled clip already left a strong impression on the audience, adding to their excitement.
This will also be a comeback series for Song Kang after his latest drama, "Love Alarm," which is also expected to have a second season. The viewers also have high-expectations of the special effects used in this drama since it's done by a collaboration of the best special effects staff in Hollywood and the best CG, and production team in South Korea. This drama is undoubtedly another masterpiece of director Lee Eung Bok.
