Singer and actress Seo Hyun Jin is confirmed to star as the main lead in an SBS upcoming drama!
On Dec. 10, there was a video released on Youtube that features the cast lineup of SBS's upcoming dramas, variety shows, and cultural programs to be released in 2021. The Studio S's CEO, Han Jung Hwan, shared that Seo Hyun Jin is confirmed to play the leading role in the upcoming drama "Why Oh Soo Jae?" The CEO discussed the drama and said it would be a melodrama that will feature the romantic relationship between a professor and a law school student.
In the drama, she will play the female lead character named Oh Soo Jae. This also marks the actress's next project. Meanwhile, the actor who will be portraying the younger male lead is still a secret.
CEO Han Jung Hwan continued that the character that Seo Hyun Jin will portray is a very bad-tempered and mean professor. And when Han Jung Hwan asked why she accepted the role, the actress responded that she wants to play this character because the personality is a mean and cruel woman. The CEO added that Seo Hyun Jin will make a 180-degree transformation and will amaze the viewers with a completely different side of her.
"Why Oh Soo Jae?" is penned by writer Kim Ji Eun and helmed by Director Park Soo Jin. Moreover, Seo Hyun Jin will seem to have a very busy year next year since she is also in talks to star in a new drama titled You Are My Spring.

South Korean actress and singer Seo Hyun Jin was born on February 27, 1985. The 35-year-old celebrity started her career in the entertainment industry as the main vocalist of the South Korean girl group M.I.L.K. in 2001. Her career as a singer continued until the group disbanded in 2003.
Then, in 2006, she began her career in acting through the musical The Sound of Music. Following this, the actress made appearances in numerous television series and films. She was cast as supporting roles in the period drama Hwang Jini (2006), TV police procedural H.I.T (2007), the queer, and also the film Ashamed (2011). However, the actress slowly gained attention for her subtler performance in The Duo (2011), a neighborhood tomboy who later becomes a gisaeng.
