Netflix's 'Busted' Season 3 Announces Release Date

For the fans of Netflix original K-mystery variety show "Busted," the long wait is finally over! The show will be returning with its third season in January of 2021!

In the upcoming season, the preposterous traitor Lee Kwang Soo from season one, as well as the good-looking bad guy Lee Seung Gi of season two, will be coming back to pitch the detectives of the variety show with even more impossible puzzles and challenges to solve!

After the announcement of its release date, Netflix Korea also unveiled "Busted" main poster which shows the cast lineup for the upcoming season. Check out the cast below!

Netflix's South Korean web television program "Busted!" stars television celebrities namely: Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Min, Park Min Young, Gugudan's Kim Se Jung, EXO's Sehun, Lee Kwang Soo, Lee Seung Gi, and more! The program's first season aired way back May 4, 2018. It features the uncoordinated crew of detectives who go out on a mission to solve complicated mysteries with each episode. They will try to uncover a big, dark scheme titled "Project D."

"Busted!" is considered the first-ever Korean variety produced and distributed exclusively by the international streaming site Netflix. The said program is co-produced by the Korean production company named SangSang, who is also responsible for X-Man, Running Man, and Family Outing. The series is Netflix's first original program to showcase an all-Korean cast.

Producer Cho Hyo Jin once mentioned in a press briefing that Netflix's goal is to make a hit show for South Korea, which can then be "consumed on the global stage." The show is blended with both scripted and unscripted lines, which makes it even more interesting.

The show's first season consists of 10 episodes, which are aired two episodes a week and were released from May 4 to June 1, 2018. Before the first season ended, on May 30, 2018, Netflix announced through a press release that the show confirmed a renewal for the second season. The second season's 10 episodes were released at once on November 8, 2019.

In Season 1, the seven celebrity who stars as detectives uncovers that they are part of an operation called the "Project D." The members are implanted with a chip containing the DNA of famous detectives in history. They are all led by a man whom they only know as "K" (Ahn Nae-sang) as they enter their job as private detectives. They are given a mission and new cases in each episode as they try to find out the mystery behind Project D and its inception.

Meanwhile, In Season 2, a year after the events in Season 1, the detectives gather together now with a new member. They are on the mission to unveil the truth of K's death. With different murder cases linked, they conclude to search for the murderer named "Flower Killer."
