As the covid19 cases in South Korea rise, actors are more prone to catching the virus since they are busy working with their drama schedules.
The veteran and "True Beauty" actor Kim Byung Choon was recently reported to have gotten a positive result for the Covid-19 test.
On Dec. 22, a source from his talent agency Hanahreum Company informed MBN Star, "Before the 'True Beauty' filming scheduled for Dec. 24, Kim Byung Choon was preemptively tested for covid on Dec. 21." The agency also shared that they received the positive test result on Dec. 22. They also added, "Our actor Kim Byung Choon has been careful and had no symptoms."
Later that day, Hanahreum Company released another statement saying that Kim Byung Choon is currently in self-quarantine and is strictly following health authorities' guidelines, they also stated, "Regardless of whether they have been in contact with Kim Byung Choon, all our agency staff is now in self-isolation after also being tested for Covid-19."
Meanwhile, Kim Byung Choon, Han Ye Ri, and Lee Bong Geun recently participated in the radio recording schedule of Korean traditional music. Afterward, when Kim Byung Choon was confirmed for the virus on the 22nd, actors Han Ye Ri and Lee Bong Geun were identified as close contacts and urgently got tested. Fortunately, the two actors' test results were negative, but they are still in self-isolation for two weeks, following the health protocols of the quarantine authorities.
Kim Byung Choon is playing the role of a vice-principal of Saebom High School in tvN's ongoing drama "True Beauty." He is also participating in the SBS morning drama "Phoenix 2020."
According to the YTN report, a source from the "True Beauty" staff said that Kim Byung Choon took part in filming for the said drama in November. They also added, "He has not filmed after that. There are no cast and crew members who had close contact with him."
Also, a source from "Phoenix 2020" informed the public that the actor's last filming schedule was on November 28, and he has not recently visited the set.
Many drama productions are being put on hold due to the alarming cases of covid19, however, they are all strictly following the health protocols in order to avoid the spread of the virus. South Koreans always wear masks every time they go out of their house. It has also been advised that the best way to avoid the virus is to stay at home.
