For the fans of the "Hospital Playlist" actor Jo Jung Suk, the long wait is finally over! It has been confirmed that the actor will grace the big screen soon! The actor was offered to be part of the cast in director Choo Chang Min's upcoming movie titled "Nation of Happiness."
The upcoming film will center its story on a lawyer who does whatever it takes to save a person who is involved in the case of the century. Joo Jung Suk is confirmed to star as the main character, which is the lawyer.
South Korean film director and screenwriter Choo Chang Min was born in 1966. His 2012 creation, a period film titled "Masquerade," has pulled in over 12 million moviegoers and was named one of the top-grossing Korean films of all time! It also became a commercial success, wherein the director bagged the "Best Director" award at the prestigious "Grand Bell Awards and the Baeksang Arts Awards."
The famous director started his career in the industry as an assistant director on films such as "City of the Rising Sun" (1999) and "The Happy Funeral Director" (2000). Following this, he helmed his first short film, "The End of April" (2000), which was highly acclaimed at several international film festivals. Then he eventually made his feature film debut with hit comedy "Mapado: Island of Fortunes" (2005).
Since then, Choo Chang Min has directed numerous dramas, namely "Lost in Love" (2006), then followed by the senior citizen romance "Late Blossom" (2011), which became a massive hit through word of mouth after it was released.
Meanwhile, "Nation of Happiness" will move forward with its pre-production process and is scheduled to start its filming in the summer of 2021.
South Korean actor Jo Jung Suk was born on Dec. 26, 1980. The 39-year-old actor has always dreamed of acting on stage and started his theater career through "Spring Awakening," "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," and the stage adaptation of "The Harmonium in My Memory," among many other musicals and plays.
In case you didn't know, the actor was also granted an exemption from military service due to family circumstances, and to be able to earn money and be financially stable, the actor quit school before graduating and started to pursue musical acts. Then in 2004, Jo Jung Suk made his professional acting debut in "The Nutcracker."
Then, after almost 10 years of acting on stage, Jo Jung Suk finally made his film debut as a comedic supporting actor in the 2012 box office hit Architecture 101. This film became his breakout role.
His talent and skills in acting were further showcased through the television series "The King 2 Hearts" (2012), "You're the Best," "Lee Soon-shin" (2013), "Oh My Ghost" (2015), "Don't Dare to Dream" (2016), as well as films "The Face Reader" (2013), "My Love, My Bride" (2014), "My Annoying Brother" (2016), "Exit" (2019).
Jo Jung Suk's latest series was in the medical drama "Hospital Playlist" (2020) where he starred as one of the main characters, who is an assistant professor of general surgery.
