Another top grossing film from South Korea will be getting a remake!

The emerging popularity of Korean content from movies to dramas has become the source of happiness and comfort to a lot of people across the globe, that is why, getting a remake from various countries is also possible, to bring another flavor of excitement.

On Jan 20, several posts went viral online saying that there will be an upcoming remake for the 2001 hit romantic-comedy movie "My Sassy GIrl" in the Philippines. Series of photos showing some of the behind the scenes from the movie were shared on different social media platforms.

Singer, host, and actress Toni Gonzaga was the woman behind the viral photos, revealing that she is set to portray the character of "The Girl", which was originally played by Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun. Later on, the news have been confirmed after the company TinCan Productions, who will be handling the film released their statement through their official Instagram account, "In celebration of its 20th Anniversary, this year we will relive the classic Korean RomCom with its Philippines adaptation. On her birthday, we are proud to announce Toni Gonzaga is Philippines' My Sassy Girl."

Together with their announcement were the photos that circulated online, which was actually some stills from the upcoming remake film, giving the fans a sneak peek of what to look forward to in the movie.

Meanwhile, the original movie "My Sassy Girl" has become popular for its comedic and romantic vibe that captured the hearts of the viewers. Actress Jun Ji Hyun and actor Cha Tae Hyun, who played as the main leads, had perfect chemistry making it more appealing to the audience.

"My Sassy Girl" was actually based on a true story that was first published in a blog written by Kim Ho Sik, where he shared his own story with his not so ordinary girlfriend during his college years, and later adapted into a fictional novel and caught the attention of director Kwak Jae Young and made it an amazing film that was enjoyed and watched by millions of people from all around the world.

The story of a college student named Kyun Woo, portrayed by comedian and actor Cha Tae Hyun, having an unexpected encounter with a drunk girl, played by "Legend of the Blue Sea" star Jun Ji Hyun (her character name was not mentioned in the movie). Their unexpected encounter became the start of a chaotic yet interesting journey together.

Korean movies have been recognized for its spectacular and extraordinary kind of storylines, they have become one of the pioneer of what entertainment can bring to the table. They made it easier for the viewers to feel the right emotions while watching every film.
