Actress Song Yoo Jung has passed away after taking her own life and committing suicide.
According to reports, the actress committed suicide on Saturday, Jan. 23. She was born on June 8, 1994, making her 26 years old at the time of her passing. She debuted in 2013 through the MBC series "Golden Rainbow" and rose to fame following her performance in the MBC series "Make a Wish" in 2014.
She further rose to fame following her performance in the KBS2 drama "School 2017," the seventh installment in the "School" franchise. She acted alongside Kim Jung Hyun, Kim Sejeong, Jang Dong Yoon, Han Sun Hwa, and Han Joo Wan. In the drama, she played a supporting role as Choi Hyun Jung, a close friend of Ha Young Gun (Ha Seung Ri), a bully who dreams of being a police officer.
Her last release was in 2019, starring in the Naver TV Cast web drama "Dear My Name." She acted alongside B1A4's Gongchan. The drama tells the story of a universe in which the names of one's soulmate is engraved on the person's skin. Song Yoo Jung took on the role of Jung Ji Woo, a smart and clumsy engineering student, while Gongchan took the role of Yoo Jae Ha, a popular guy taking up photography who has no interest in getting into relationships nor anything to do with love.
K-pop fans know Song Yoo Jung for starring in iKON's "Goodbye Road" music video.
Song Yoo Jung was also an active model and was well-loved by beauty and cosmetic brands. Throughout her career, Song Yoo Jung modeled for numerous beauty brands and has bagged numerous CFs under her belt.
She last updated her Instagram account on Dec. 30, 2020, 26 days before her passing.
