The hit drama "True Beauty" concluded its show with high viewership ratings!

"True Beauty" ended its episode 16 broadcast on February 4, 2021, and the show's viewership ratings recorded an average of 5.1% in the Seoul metropolitan area (highest recorded 5.6%) and 4.5% nationwide (highest recorded 4.8%).

Refresher: What is "True Beauty" about and Why Viewers Love it

The drama centers its story on a high school student, named Lim Ju Kyung (Moon Ga Young), who is very insecure about her physical appearance. In order to gain self-confidence, she learns the art of applying makeup. She instantly transforms into a Goddess when she puts on her makeup. Her only focus is not to get caught bare-faced (her face without any makeup on).

However, there is one person who had previously run into her bare face a couple of times and that person is Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun woo), a dashingly handsome and popular boy in their school. He may seem a bit cold, but that's because he carries a deep emotional scar from his past experience.

Lee Su Ho is kind and caring deep inside. Both Lim Ju Kyung and Lee Su Ho will form a love triangle with another character, Han Seo Jun (Hwang In yeop), the equally handsome rebel who exudes bad boy look but he is actually a kind and sensitive person.

Lee Su Ho and Han Seo Jun are former best friends. They have been estranged because of an incident in the past.

The trio will eventually unravel secrets, share their pains, grow together, and seek comfort from each other.

In the last episode of "True Beauty" the trio, Lim Ju Kyung (Moon Ga Young), Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo), and Han Seo Jun (Hwang In Yeop) all achieved their happy ending. The drama has captured the viewer's empathy by showcasing Lim Ju Kyung's character as she transforms into a better version of herself.

The Essence of "True Beauty"

She was once a girl who isolated herself because of being insecure about her appearance. She eventually began to grow and change positively while she's on the journey of searching for her breakthrough.

The growth and positive change in Lim Ju Kyung's personality has a great impact on the general public as it delivers a message of "love yourself first so that others will also love you."

Lim Ju Kyung gained more confidence with the help of Lee Su Ho, Han Seo Jun, her family as well as other people who supported her along the way. She has been reborn as the Goddess of self-confidence by revealing her bare face to everyone. She was able to overcome her fear. and finally, she felt real happiness.

Because of this, "True Beauty" ended as a massive hit, thanks to the cast members' teamwork, the actors' flawless performances, and the production's passion to create this perfect drama that didn't only make our hearts flutter but learn a lot from as well.
