Park Hyung Sik to Possibly Star in tvN’s Forthcoming Drama ‘The Golden Hairpin’

tvN's newest series "The Golden Hairpin" might be the first drama of Park Hyung Sik following "Suits" in 2018, his last project before enlistment.

Just months after he has been discharged from the military, the "Hwarang" star is already in talks to return on the small screen.

Park Hyung Si Currently Reviewing the Offer to Star in tvN's "The Golden Hairpin"

According to a media report on March 19, the actor will be making his drama comeback with "The Golden Hairpin," one of tvN's upcoming series for the second half of 2021. After hearing the news, on the same day, Park Hyung Sik's agency United Artists Agency (UAA) released their statement regarding the rumor, saying:

"Park Hyung Sik received an offer to star in writer's Jung Hyun Jung's new drama 'The Golden Hairpin,' and he is positively reviewing it."

Park Hyung Sik in Discussions to be a Prince in Possible Major Project after Militay Discharge

If the idol-turned-actor Park Hyung Sik accepts the offer, he will portray the character of Prince Lee Hwan, a man known for being bright and easy-going. He will suddenly change and become the most determined and hardworking prince after he has been given the power to lead their palace, following his father's dethronement and his brother's death.

But while he is in the process of fulfilling all his duties, his beloved mother and said to be his remaining family member passes away. Prince Lee Hwan will be in so much pain and see himself sinking in the darkness of his life.

Prince Lee Hwan may look strong and fearless on the outside, but is actually tearing apart from the inside. He is deeply rooted in loneliness because of what had happened to his family.

tvN's upcoming sageuk "The Golden Hairpin" will depict the story of a brilliant individual who found out that her family is being accused of murder and a prince who is in the state of misery. The two will have an unexpected encounter and they'll see each other as their only savior, and will soon develop a not so ordinary kind of romance.

Lee Jong Jae, the director of "100 Days My Prince," "Another Oh Hae Young," and "Duel," will be in charge of the new historical drama.

On the other hand, Jung Hyun Jung, the creator of "Lovestruck in the City," "Romance is a Bonus Book," "Discovery of Love," "I Need Romance," and "Five Enough," will pen the script.
