JTBC shares details with their upcoming Korean adaptation of BBC's "Undercover" starring Ji Jin Hee, Kim Hyun Joo, Han Sun Hwa, and Yeon Woo Jin.
Just recently, the broadcasting network unveiled on its official Instagram account a captivating teaser poster featuring the past and the present look of its main characters.
"Everything began to fall apart," one of its posts reads.
Over the comment section, fans expressed their excitement for the forthcoming drama while pointing out the two actresses' uncanny resemblance.
On the other hand, viewers also pointed out the visual chemistry between the "Watcher" star and the 49-year-old actor, saying that they "look so great together."
The Meaning behind "Undercover" Teaser Poster Finally Revealed
In a recent report, the producers of the much-awaited remake revealed the meaning behind the intriguing teaser.
The torn photos represent the "entangled relationships" and betrayal of trust within the characters.
"The dangerous truth that completely upsets the trust between Han Jung Hyun and Choi Yeon Soo, the complex and entangled relationships between the characters," the producer explained.
Moreover, the representative also shared that "Undercover" will show intense scenes through the "passionate acting of the stars who will switch back and forth between repressed emotions and fiery outbursts."
"Undercover" Release and Synopsis
The Korean remake of the hit 2016 UK series is helmed by "The Beauty Inside" director Song Hyun Wook, together with his pool of screenwriters, Baek Cheol Hyun, Song Ja Hoon, Jung Hye Eun.
"Undercover" is slated to debut in JTBC on April 23, every Friday and Saturday, occupying the time slot of "Beyond Evil."
The thriller crime drama follows the story of Han Jung Hyun, played by Ji Jin Hee, who is a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent. Known for his intellect and boldness, he was selected to lead a top-secret mission.
While in the middle of his confidential assignment, he met and instantly fell in love with the human rights lawyer Choi Yeon Soo, portrayed by Kim Hyun Joo.
He opted to hide his true identity and left everything to marry her. Unfortunately, his secret life is about to come to light after his wife got nominated to become the lead of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials.
Choi Yeon Soo's lifelong dream will force her to face a shocking truth about her husband's secret identity.
On the other hand, Yeon Woo Jin will play the role of the young Han Jung Hyun, while Han Sun Hwa is set to portray the young Choi Yeon Soo.
Aside from the four actors, the "Undercover" cast members include Heo Joon Ho, Jung Man Sik, Han Go Eun, Kwon Hae Hyo, and more.
With the lineup of its powerhouse cast, the upcoming drama's production crew lauded Ji Jin Hee's performance and pointed out his strong acting capability.
"His detailed portrayal of Han Jung Hyun's psychology and explosive emotional acting will make Han Jung Hyun's narrative shine."
Moreover, the staff also hinted about the shocking scenes that would break Ji Jin Hee's character as he lives a "normal and peaceful life" with his top-secret mission.
