Growing up in Canada, then 21-year-old Choi Woo Shik chose to return to Korea to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor.

Luckily, he landed his acting debut in the 2011 period drama "The Duo," followed by supporting roles in the action series "Special Affairs Team TEN" and movies "Flu" and "Secretly, Greatly."

Three years later, he managed to bag his first lead role in 2014 coming of age film "Set Me Free," where he played the role of Young-Jae.

Now that he is starting to make a name for himself both locally and internationally, "The Divine Fury" star spoke about the pressure to score another notable role after joining the cast of the critically acclaimed film, directed by Bong Joon Ho.

"It would be a lie to say that I don't feel pressured. It was such a good experience, and wouldn't the actors and staff all hope to find a project to go beyond that?" He shared.

Instead, he uses this on a positive note and says that he overcomes this by "enjoying the process and working with joy."

Moreover, the "Time to Hunt" showed how passionate he is about his craft.

During the conversation with Cosmopolitan, Choi Woo Shik revealed that he utilizes his past experiences to bring out his character in the "most natural way."

"I used to pull from the happiness within me to take on those happy roles. These days, I think I refer to other aspects too. Everyone has dual sides to them. These days, I feel comfortable with being somewhere that's not entirely bright," he explained.
