Kim Jung Hyun in Talks to Sign with Agency of 'Crash Landing on You' Co-Star Seo Ji Hye

Following the dating rumor, Kim Jung Hyun is reported to be in discussions of signing an exclusive contract with Seo Ji Hye's management agency, Culture Depot.

Kim Jung Hyun and Seo Ji Hye appeared as love interests in the Korean television series "Crash Landing You" where they played the South Korean fugitive, Koo Seung Joon, and chaebol heiress Seo Dan, respectively.

Aired from December 2019 to February 2020, the show became the highest-rated tvN drama, and it even recorded the third-highest ratings for Korean TV dramas, achieving 21.683 percent.

Kim Jung Hyun is currently signed with O& Entertainment, however, his exclusive contract with the company is said to expire next month. One media outlet reported that the actor is looking for a new label.

Kim Jung Hyun Might Be Joining Seo Ji Hye's Agency Following Contract Expiration

According to an exclusive report from Ilgan Sports on April 8, the exclusive contract of Kim Jung Hyun with his current company, O& Entertainment will end in May. The media outlet then said that an insider told them the actor has decided not to renew his contract with the agency, and so he is looking for a new one.

The insider added that Kim Jung Hyun has received offers from numerous companies, but he is now in talks with Culture Depot, home to his "Crash Landing on You" co-star Seo Ji Hye. Ilgan Sports further stated that Seo Ji Hye was the one who introduced Culture Depot to him.

In response to the report, a source from Culture Depot said that the agency is indeed discussing an exclusive contract with Kim Jung Hyun.

In other news, Kim Jung Hyun and Seo Ji Hye were previously reported to be in a relationship. Sports Chosun said that the two celebrities developed a romantic feeling for each other after "Crash Landing on You." Shortly after their dating news, their respective agencies released an official statement.

Kim Jung Hyun's Projects Before and After "Crash Landing on You"

After starring in "Crash Landing on You," Kim Jung Hyun carried out more acting projects. In May last year, he made a cameo appearance in the drama "Dinner Mate," the latest drama of Seo Ji Hye. Kim appeared in the first episode as the long-term boyfriend of Seo's character.

In June of the same year, the actor was confirmed to take the role of "King Cheoljong" in tvN's historical drama "Mr. Queen." The television series aired from December last year to February this year. As of Feb. 15, "Mr. Queen" has the seventh-highest viewership ratings for Korean TV dramas, having 17.31 percent. It is also the fifth-highest-rated tvN drama.

Prior to these K-dramas, Kim Jung Hyun gained popularity after playing the male lead in KBS2's teen drama "School 2017," where Kim Sejeong played the female lead. Critics and the audience even praised his excellent portrayal of a rebellious student. On top of that, the drama earned him nominations for "Best New Actor" at several major awards ceremonies in South Korea.
