After portraying the role of Go Gun in the historical-romance drama "River Where the Moon Rises," Lee Ji Hoon opened up on his character and his chemistry with his love interest.

Lee Ji Hoon Talked about "River Where the Moon Rises"

In an interview, the 32-year-old actor talked about the sudden change of schedules in their drama "River Where the Moon Rises" amidst the controversies. They were required to reshoot scenes to maintain the quality of the drama.

Na In Woo, who played the character of On Dal, started to appear in episode 7 and had to reshoot the first six episodes of the series to replace the existing footage of Ji Soo.

The production team encountered challenges while doing the project. That is why, in order to reduce the burden, some cast members, including Lee Ji Hoon, decided not to receive payments for the reshoots.

Lee Ji Hoon started by sharing that when the news first broke, he was not on the set because it was his day off. He just heard the news and announcement through a phone call. He confessed that their director was determined and had a strong will to finish the project.

After knowing that they had to redo the shoots, he didn't have time to think about the consequences and had to start filming right away.

Lee Ji Hoon also shared about Na In Woo's case during his first day in the series, "As far as I know, Na In Woo had only one day to prepare, surprisingly, he ended up doing 40 scenes per day. Thinking that he is younger than me and was able to finish lots of work in just one day, it motivates me that instead of thinking too much I should become more responsible to do my best in work."

The "Dinner Mate" actor humbly confessed that Kim So Hyun and Na In Woo made lots of reshoots, while he finished all his reshoots in just three days.

Meanwhile, when talking about his character, Lee Ji Hoon shared that he had a hard time with Go Gun's complex emotions as he started to team up with Hae Mo Yong (Choi Yu Hwa) despite having one-sided love for Pyeonggang.

According to him, "It was really difficult to play his (Go Gun) character. It is easy to analyze and express a specific character if his relationships are clearly specified, but for Go Gun's case, he was always having a hard time expressing his true self."

Lee Ji Hoon continued, "The writer already told me that Go Gun is an appealing character, but is very difficult to express."

The Story Behind Go Gun's "I Love You"

In the last episode of the drama, Go Gun expressed the words "I love you" to Hae Mo Yong and Lee Ji Hoon finally revealed the story behind it.

"During that part, Go Gun was still thinking about Pyeonggang. He had no ambition for power and just wanted to win her heart, but it didn't turn out the way he wanted to. Because of his one-sided love, his life changed. Even though Hae Mo Yong was there for Go Gun, she knew that Pyeonggang was still the one he loved."

Lee Ji Hoon revealed that he had discussed that last line with Choi Yu Hwa and the drama's writer, "I asked her (Choi Yu Hwa) which would be better for her character Hae Mo Yong to hear; 'You were my mirror, so live well' or 'I love you.' And for her 'I love you' was better."
