"Dark Hole" gave fans a sneak peek at its much-awaited drama featuring Kim Ok Bin and Lee Joon Hyuk.

The forthcoming OCN drama recently held its press conference with the appearance of "Dark Hole" lead cast alongside Im Won Hee and director Kim Bong Joo.

A Glimpse of "Dark Hole" According to the Director

At the event, the filmmaker, whose famous works include the thriller movie "The Phone," spills secrets behind the latest evening drama.

As we all know, there's a ton of Korean dramas that involve zombies and flesh-eating creatures, but the "Dark Hole" director is confident that the OCN drama is far different from other zombie series.

During the press conference, Kim Bong Joo shared that the upcoming thriller mystery revolves around the "values we have to protect" amid post-apocalyptic events.

Moreover, the director also gave hints on what the audience can expect in "Dark Hole."

"The scenario is one where people get infected with dark smoke from a sinkhole," he mentioned as obtained by a South Korean outlet, adding that the survivors have to make life changing decisions amid the worst situations in order to survive.

What Sets "Dark Hole" apart from Other Zombie Dramas

Director Kim Bong Joo explained the difference between the new mystery thriller drama from other zombie genres.

At the press conference, he mentioned that he and his screenwriter spent a long time discussing the flow of "Dark Hole" to set it apart from other zombie dramas.

He then revealed that the OCN's new series depicts how the "infection amplifies emotions already inside the character, such as rage or fear."

"Dark Hole" lead stars also cited their insights on the upcoming drama.

Lee Joon Hyuk revealed that the filming focuses more on physical activities rather than lines, adding that his "whole body suffered" while on set.

Meanwhile, Kim Ok Bin shared what made her say yes to the drama.

During the press conference, the "Arthdal Chronicles" star says that "Dark Hole" is different from her previous roles because it gave her a chance to "play a character who gets dirty on set."

What You Need to Know about "Dark Hole" Before Its Release

Slated with 12 episodes, "Dark Hole" is scheduled to premiere this coming Apr 30 and will air every Friday and Saturday.

The story follows a group of survivors who are on their quest to fight for their lives against mysterious flesh-eating creatures.

Kim Ok Bin plays police detective Lee Hwa Sun whose life changed after receiving a phone call instructing her to go to "Mujishi" to capture her husband's killer.

On the other hand, Lee Joon Hyuk's character, Yoo Tae Han, is a police officer turned wreck car driver and a native of Mujishi.

His life is about to change when he meets Lee Hwa Sun in the middle of chaos.
