SHINee's Minho is genuinely a versatile entertainer. Even though being a SHINee member means he is likely to be more known for his singing and dancing, he is also thriving in the acting scene.
And it has been confirmed! After a good cameo in "Lovestruck in the City," the idol-actor will be part of an upcoming K-drama "Yumi's Cells."
Choi Minho in 'Yumi's Cells'
Minho will not be a recurring character, though. Instead, he will be making a special appearance in this newest tvN drama.
On April 28, agency giant SM Entertainment officially released a statement that says, "Minho will be making a special appearance in the TVing original series 'Yumi's Cells' in the role of Chae Woo Gi."
"Yumi's Cells" is based on a hit webtoon of the same title. The storyline revolves around an ordinary person named Yumi, working a mundane office job.
However, the story will be told from the point of view of the brain cells in Yumi's head, which is bound to be interesting. After all, how people are and project themselves is not exactly how they are inside or what they thought they should appear.
The brain cells will be depicted as controlling her every thought, feeling, and action.
What is 'Yumi's Cells?'
Kim Go Eun will take on the role of Yumi. Yumi is someone who has a hard time expressing herself, let alone showing what she feels. The co-star who will play opposite her is Ahn Bo Hyun, taking on a game developer named Goo Woong.
What is weird or endearing about this character is that, unlike Yumi, he is straightforward and frank about what he thinks and feels.

In Minho's guest appearance, he will be taking on the role of Chae Woo Gi, the junior colleague of Yumi. He's handsome, charming, talented, and caring - which is usually the case for male characters who are not the main protagonists.
In the original "Yumi's Cells," this particular character has caught the hearts of many fans, and this role is perfect for the "Lucifer" singer.
Minho's Performance in "Lovestruck in the City"
Minho recently made a strong impression on viewers after making a scene-stealing cameo in "Lovestruck in the City." He was so well-accepted that his role was extended for one more episode. The episode was particularly crafted to explore more in-depth Minho's character.
His acting must be quite something for a drama to add one more episode for his character. According to an insider at the time, "The 17th episode will be a special final episode also featuring the budding romance of Oh Dong Shik (SHINee's Minho), who left a strong impression with the arrest of the camera thief."
It remains to be seen if his performance in "Yumi's Cells" will merit a demand for more. The show will air sometime in the latter half of 2021.
