"Youth of May" Episode 1 Highlights
The newly released drama wasted no time as it starts with a strong appearance from the "Sweet Home" cast who portrayed Hwang Hee-tae.
"Youth of May" episode 1 featured Hwang Hee-tae arriving with his posh car as he passed through a protest led by students. He then ends up selling his car alongside his sunglasses and guitar.
This is to pay for the ballooning hospital bills of his former girlfriend, who is at the intensive care unit. In one scene, she whispered a will to Hwang Hee-tae, saying, "I want to go home." This made him go back to his hometown in Gwangju.
At the time, the whole community was in the midst of demonstrations against the military.
There, Go Min Si, who plays a dedicated nurse, Kim Myung Hee, appeared curing the wounded protesters.
"Youth of May" episode 1 also showed the first encounter between Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si's character.
Kim Myung Hee was dragged to the vice president's office of Gwangju Hospital, where Hwang Hee-tae was in, and complained that she was humiliating a patient.
At the time, she was only defending a colleague who was being sexually harassed by the patient.
At the office, Kim Myung Hee denied that she was disrespecting a patient. Hwang Hee-tae tried to intervene but saw that the female nurse could handle herself.
