ZE:A's Park Hyungsik and Han Hyo Joo will officially lead the cast of the upcoming Korean drama "Happiness."

Back in April, a representative from the singer-actor's agency, United Artists Agency (UAA), revealed that he has been courted to play the protagonist role and is "positively reviewing" the offer.

The same goes with the "W" actress who was in talks to lead the forthcoming thriller drama last March.

Interestingly, the two will be joined by "Goblin" actor Jo Woo Jin as one of the "Happiness" cast.

The apocalyptic thriller is helmed by director Ahn Gil Ho, whose famous works include the top-rating dramas "Record of Youth," "Strangers," and "Memories of Alhambra."

He will be working alongside scriptwriter Han Sang Woon, who worked with the 2015 KBS2 drama "Spy," Watcher," and "The Good Wife."

Aside from the confirmation of the cast, there were no reports regarding the target release date, but "Happiness" will be airing a total of 16 episodes.

ZE:A's Hyungsik and Han Hyo Joo are set to play Jung Yi Hyun and Yoon Sae Bom, who are among the survivor's newly constructed apartments after an infectious disease rundown the whole city.

Aside from the spine-chilling storyline, "Happiness" also depicts the class discrimination and psychological battle among the characters.

In the upcoming drama, Jung Yi Hyun is a former up-and-coming baseball player in high school but was forced not to follow his lifelong dream due to an accident. This prompted him to become a police officer and work as a violent crimes detective.

Meanwhile, his co-star Han Hyo Joo will take on the role of a special police force agent named Yoon Sae Bom, who grew up in an unhappy household.

With his impeccable skills, she can think fast and put things into action. Despite her hardships in life, she lives by the mantra of living comfortably in the complicated world.

Seemingly, her world was torn down to pieces after moving into the new apartment complex.

Aside from the two survivors, Han Tae Suk, played by Jo Woo Jin, is a government research specialist and information agent who carries out an essential role in stopping the spread of the virus.

Han Tae Suk previously worked as an executive at a pharmaceutical company and is the perfect person to lead the fight against infectious diseases.

With this, his goal is to discover the source of the mysterious illness and hopes to find a way to stop it.

Prior to the confirmation of the "Happiness" cast, the role of Jung Yi Hyun was previously offered to "Joseon Exorcist" actor Park Sung Hoon but was formally given to the ZE:A member.
