Yura Talks Transitioning into an Actress

For this variety show, the camera first shows a scene of Yura enjoying some relaxing moment on a massage chair. It got the star thinking that this was something she did not enjoy in the past but craves now. She said she did not like massage chairs in the past but now requires at least two hours a day on one. Probably because of all the stresses of being a celebrity.

The video then showed her reading her lines for her upcoming drama, where she gets to work with the "Descendants of the Sun" actress Song Hye Kyo and actor Jang Ki Young.

She then shared how challenging her role is.

"My role in the drama is a very uptight influencer. I have the role of someone who is very fussy with how she works," she said.

The budding actress was then told that she looked nervous in an earlier drama called "Psychopath Diary," which was surprising because she is known to have a very bright personality before transitioning into the world of acting.

Yura then felt compelled to explain and revealed how different acting and singing could be.

"When the red light on the camera turns on, idols make sure to look directly at the camera. But for actors, they are not supposed to look at the camera. At first, that was really awkward and the most difficult part for me to get used to," she explained.

Yura on "Now We Are Breaking Up" with Song Hye Kyo

Yura is one of the two K-pop stars who will be part of the cast. Apart from her, EXO's Sehun will play a new designer working alongside Song Hye Kyo's character.

One interesting trivia about their roles is that in November 2020, it was reported that these roles were supposed to be offered to Soo Ae and Yoo Teo. Had this pushed true, it would've been Soo Ae's comeback after a hiatus of four years. It would also be Yoo Teo's first big break in the acting world. However, for unclear reasons, the two declined the roles.

Yura is in good hands in this show, though, despite her difficulties with the acting world.

Aside from the main leads and supporting cast, the crew helming the drama is undeniably impressive. It comprises A-listers from the industry. The director's seat goes to Lee Gil-bok. He worked on many successful projects, including but not limited to "My Love from the Star" (2013). "Vagabond" (2019) and "Dr. Romantic 2" (2020).

The writer will be Je In, whose portfolio is as impressive. He worked on "Misty," which was shown in 2018.
