Apink's Son Naeun will be joining the powerhouse cast of the new K-drama "Ghost Doctor" with lead stars Rain and Kim Bum.
Son Naeun's agency, YG Entertainment, made the announcement and confirmed that the 27-year-old beauty would appear in the upcoming medical fantasy series.
With the confirmation of her new project, the singer-actress is set to take on the role of Oh Soo Jung, an emergency room intern.
Apink's Son Naeun Joins Rain and Kim Bum in K-Drama "Ghost Doctor"
The "Law School" star and Rain partaking in "Ghost Doctor" has been recently confirmed by their respective managements.
Earlier this week, Kim Bum's agency, King Kong by Starship, revealed that the actor had accepted the offer, adding, "Kim Bum will be appearing in 'Ghost Doctor' in the role of Go Seung Tak. We ask that you show a lot of love and interest in Kim Bum, who will continue to work hard in the future."
The same goes for the OG Oppa, who was previously confirmed in March that he would act as the male lead in "Ghost Doctor."
Interestingly, this is Rain's first K-drama since the 2019 MBC series "Welcome 2 Life."
What You Need to Know About "Ghost Doctor"
The upcoming fantasy medical drama will be helmed by Boo Sung Chul, who has directed several notable series, including "The Heirs" and the 2010 "My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho."
In addition, he will be joined by remarkable screenwriter Kim Eun Hee, who penned "Sweet 18" and "My Fair Lady."
"Ghost Doctor" follows the story of two doctors who share different backgrounds, outlooks, and personalities but are joined by one mission.
Cha Young Min, portrayed by Rain, is a genius thoracic surgeon, while Kim Bum is set to take on the character of the wealthy resident, Go Seung Tak.
On the other hand, medical intern Oh Soo Jung, played by Apink's Son Naeun, believes in the existence of miracles and supernatural phenomena despite being in the medical field.
Interestingly, she dreams of becoming a thoracic surgeon because of a hidden secret and is eager to fulfill her lifelong dream even with her family's disapproval.
Apart from her appearance in "Ghost Doctor," the Apink member is confirmed to star in the new K-drama "No Longer Human."
The news was also confirmed by her then agency, Play M Entertainment, marking her first drama since her appearance on MBC's "Dinner Mate."
In "No Longer Human," she will work alongside a roster of talented stars, including Ryu Jun Yeol, Jeon Do Yeon, Park Byung Eun, and more.
Apink's Son Naeun is Now with YG Entertainment
Months after the confirmation of her MBC drama, the 27-year-old singer-actress officially signed under YG Entertainment.
In early May, the agency announced and pointed out that they are "happy to welcome" Son Naeun to their family.
"We are happy to be joined by the multi-talented Son Naeun. As Son Naeun is facing an important period in which she is making a new start as an actress, we will provide our full support so she can display her full capacity."
The news came after Play M Entertainment revealed that the multi-talented celebrity left the agency; however, her fellow girl group members Yoon Bomi, Jung Eun Ji, Namjoo, Chorong, and have renewed their contracts.
