The hit apocalyptic horror K-drama "Sweet Home" starring Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si sent the internet into a major frenzy after multiple outlets revealed that the much-awaited sequel is reportedly now in the works.
Rumor sparked that the popular series is gearing up for a brand new season.

According to multiple outlets, Netflix is planning to release "Sweet Home 2" in 2022.
With this, the streaming giant is aiming to begin filming sessions in December 2021 and have reportedly started checking on the actors' schedule.
Speaking of actors, "Sweet Home 2" is said to have the same cast members as from the previous season.
Netflix Addresses Rumored Sweet Home Season 2
Following the news about the highly anticipated sequel, Netflix released a statement to clear out the issue.
As obtained by MBN Star, the streaming giant revealed that "nothing has been decided regarding the production of Season 2 of "Sweet Home."

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, "Sweet Home" gained massive attention worldwide due to its intriguing storyline and powerhouse cast.
With this, the supernatural drama is said to achieve 22 million paid subscription households worldwide in just one month after its release.
Helmed by the renowned director Lee Eung Bok, whose famous works include the mega-hit K-dramas "Dream High," "Descendants of the Sun," "Goblin," and more, the story depicts a group of survivors who were caught up in a post-apocalyptic environment.
Seemingly, the lead character, Cha Hyun Soo, played by Song Kang, isolates himself in order to protect his fellow survivors.
Apart from the South Korean heartthrob, viewers have also fallen in love with Lee Jin Wook's character, who plays former private detective Pyeon Sang Wook.
Due to his mysterious aura and massive scars on his body, everyone assumed that he's the bad guy that would put everyone in great danger.
Interestingly, the latter part of "Sweet Home" revealed his true identity, who was seen as someone who adheres to what is right and would sacrifice himself to save someone.
Aside from the public's attention and online buzz created by the Netflix series, this also gained recognition from Song Kang, who was nominated as Best New Actor at the 57th Baeksang Arts awards for his impeccable performance in "Sweet Home."
Sweet Home" Cast Spoke About their Experience Filming the Apocalyptic Horror K-Drama
During her interview and cover shoot for @star1 magazine, Go Min Si shares her thoughts about starring in "Sweet Home."
the "Youth of May" star confessed that she had rewatched the drama almost eight times, adding, "No matter how many times I watch it over and over again, it feels new, and I don't get tired of it."
In the Netflix series, the 26-year-old actress played Lee Do Hyun's stubborn sister Lee Eun Yoo.
Seemingly, in a previous report by Sports Chosun, Song Kang was surprised upon hearing the production's budget for "Sweet Home."
Dubbed as the "son of Netflix," the "Navillera" star revealed that he felt pressured to portray the lead role.
"I didn't hear about the 30 billion won (about $27 million) budget when I was cast. After I heard about it, I suddenly felt a lot of pressure. I thought a lot about how I could better lead the show as Hyun Soo," he explained.
