A child star no more, Nam Da Reum has started portraying bigger roles, proving his versatility and continuous growth in the entertainment industry. Recently, the actor shared his acting journey of working in his new movie "The 8th Night."
Nam Da Reum Narrates Growth as an Actor Through His Previous Roles
During the interview, Nam Da Reum mentioned he likes fantasy, mystery, and thrillers - or things that aren't likely to happen in reality.
After the movie was released on July 2 on Netflix, viewers naturally shared their feedback on the film through various socila platforms. But for Nam Da Reum, he was mostly impressed by the message of the movie.
He said, "The profound message that deals with the human heart, not the confrontation of evil, is what makes it different from other genre films."
The "Start-Up" actor added he didn't find any difficulties in playing the role of Chang Seok in "The 8th Night" since his character just focused on showing facial expressions and writing.
He went on, "The characters that I have shown you from my previous projects are characters with different feelings. There were lots of dark performances while I was still a child actor, but this time I appeared with a bright and pure role in the movie 'The 8th Night.'"
Nam Da Reum did mention that he raised the expression and the tone of his voice. "I made sure to reveal the character of Chang Seok well through the movement of the eyebrows and actions. It is also a work that broadens the spectrum of my acting."

Nam Da Reum Reveals Takeaways from Lee Sung Min, Kim Yoo Jung
In the interview, Nam Da Reum shared the lessons and experiences working with professional and talented cast members.
The "Doom at Your Service" star was honored to work again with actor Lee Sung Min, adding he was grateful for his advice while they were having conversations in between takes during filming.
Nam Da Reum said, "It felt so cool to act with Lee Sung Min and Kim Yoo Jung with just pure emotions and without lines. It's not easy, but it was intense and wonderful."
He added he can relate to actress Kim Yoo Jung for she also started her career as a child actor and is now one of the prominent actresses in the industry.
Nam Da Reum shared, "Senior Kim Yoo Jung gave me a lot of advice on the set. When I was filming for this movie, I was preparing for the entrance exam, and the experiences that my seniors had shared with me were very helpful."
"The 8th Night" tells the struggle story of an exorcist to stop the resurrection of the two mysterious beings that tortured humans and were locked up in two caskets for 2500 years.
This mystery-thriller film is now available on Netflix.
