Kang Han Na is set to star in the upcoming K-drama "Red Single Heart" alongside Lee Joon and Jang Hyuk.

The news was revealed by an industry insider stating that the 32-year-old actress will be one of the lead stars in the soon-to-be-released historical drama.

"Kang Han Na has been cast as Yoo Jeong, the female lead in the historical drama 'Red Single Heart,' which will be broadcasted for the first time next year," the insider shared as obtained by a local outlet.

In the forthcoming KBS series, the "Start-Up" star will take on the role of Yoo Jeong, sharing on-screen romance with Lee Joo's character.

Penned by "Marry Me Now" screenwriter Park Pil Joo, "Red Single Heart" follows the story of Lee Tae, played by Lee Joon, who is the upcoming King of Joseon.

The conflict rises when Park Gye Won, portrayed by Jang Hyuk, leads the rebellion against the tyrant alongside a slew of anti-government officials.

This builds the question of whether Lee Tae, being the crown prince, managed to achieve his dream of being an absolute monarch and destroy Park Gye Won.

Kang Han Na Talks about Her Role in K-drama "My Roommate is a Gumiho"

This will be Kang Han Na's next project after her recently concluded K-drama "My Roommate is a Gumiho" with Jang Ki Yong, Lee Hyeri, Kim Do Wan and Bae In Hyuk.

In the fantasy drama, she plays Yang Hye Sun, who has a one-sided love with Do Jae Jin (Kim Do Wan.)

After the success of the tvN drama, which wrapped up on July 15, the 32-year-old beauty shared her thoughts and experience as one of the casts of the hit series.

She mentioned that she accepted the offer because the actress wanted to show that she has a "thirst for doing romantic comedies."

Moreover, Kang Han Na went on to describe his character as "multifaceted."

Hence she revealed that as an actor, she had to "think a lot" of ways to express Yang Hye Sun's emotions, adding, "I felt that she was lovable and attractive, and I wanted to show the audience that.

"The gap between her experience and her inexperience was where I could express myself the most as an actor," she added.

Interestingly, "My Roommate is a Gumiho" is a reunion project with her co-star Kim Do Wan as they both appeared in the mega-hit drama "Start-Up."

In the 2020 rom-com series, Kang Han Na played Bae Suzy's older sister Won In Jae, who is also a second-generation chaebol due to her stepfather's wealth.

However, she realized that this is a curse rather than a blessing since she has to live under her father's shadow.

Meanwhile, Kim Do Wan plays Kim Yong San, a skilled Software engineer under Nam Joo Hyuk's start-up company, Sam San Tech.

In her previous interview, the actress gets honest and revealed that "it isn't always easy to sync up with someone that you met on your previous project," but with Kim Do Wan, Kang Han Na was "happy" working with him given that their roles in "My Roommate is a Gumiho" involves being on-screen partners.
