With this, "Hostage: Missing Celebrity" garnered 453,924 spectators during the weekend, with a total of 638,310 cumulative audiences since its premiere on August 18.

'Sinkhole' Eyes 2 Million Mark

It came after "Sinkhole" managed to obtain over a total of 1.65 million audiences during the weekend.
Now, it is currently at the second spot, followed by "Escape from Mogadishu" starring Jo In Sung, Kim Yoon Seok, Heo Joon Ho, and "Kingdom: Ashin of the North" actor Koo Kyo Hwan as lead stars.

'Hostage: Missing Celebrity' Cast and Synopsis
The action-packed movie is written and directed by PD Pil Gam Seong and is a remake of the 2015 Chinese crime thriller "Saving Mr. Wu."
"Hostage: Missing Celebrity" is based on a true story that depicts a life of a famous actor who was kidnapped by unknown men.
It follows the celebrity, Jeong Min, played by Hwang Jung Min, who found himself in the middle of a movie-like scene after five assailants abducted him.
Initially, he thought it was just a prank but witnessed how the abductors' cruelty made him realize that the situation is no joke.
As he was brought to a deserted place, the kidnappers demanded a huge ransom that should be done in 24 hours.
Despite the treats, he attempts to find his way out using his wit and fighting skills he learned from acting.
In a press conference, Hwang Jung Min shared his experience filming the action crime movie.
He admitted having difficulties shooting the film since he never experienced this before (thankfully!)
Moreover, he mentioned that he had to fully immerse himself in the role by thinking of ways to escape if he was in the same situation.
"I was totally oblivious about how I would have actually felt if I were to have actually been taken, so to act as myself in such a situation was tricky. If it was a fictitious character, I could reshape him to feel whatever emotions he would feel," he explained.
Apart from his new movie, Hwang Jung Min is set to appear in a forthcoming drama "Suriname" and soon-to-be released film, "The Point Men."
