On his social media, the "My Roommate is a Gumiho" star drew the fans' attention with his buzz cut in preparation for his military service.
Over Jang Ki Yong's Instagram, the actor shared a balck and white photo revealing his short haircut.
Aside from this, he also penned a thoughtful message from fans, thanking them for their overwhelming support throughout his career.
In a handwritten note, the 29-year-old actor says that he is looking forward to his safe return.
"Hello, I'm Jang Ki Yong. Thank you for loving me and supporting me as I was able to spend my 20's happily. Sincerely, thank you. I'll be back bravely and healthy for another wonderful day in my 30s. Thank you and love you all...," the note reads.
The South Korean star is expected to leave today for his enlistment as mandatory military service.
On July 26, his agency, YG Entertainment confirmed the date and will be after wrapping up his new drama.
"Actor Jang Ki Yong will enlist as an active duty soldier on August 23 after concluding filming for his drama "Now, We Are Breaking Up." To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the location and time of his enlistment will not be revealed," Jang Ki Yong's agency mentioned in an official statement.
