Both Song Joong Ki and Park So Dam have experienced hosting in the past, such as in music shows and in K-Drama and K-Pop awarding ceremonies.

In this year's celebration, a new category has been made by the official organizers of the film festival. They decided to launch the "On Screen Section," where upcoming dramas will be first screened. It was made possible due to the increasing popularity of the Korean wave outside South Korea.
