From Hallyu queen to a madman, Lee Young Ae took a 360 transformation in her new drama, "Inspector Koo."

JTBC drama unveiled the first trailer of the upcoming comedy thriller series featuring the A-lister in her never before seen character.

Lee Young Ae Looks Unrecognizable in Her New KDrama Inspector Koo

In the 15-second teaser, the South Korean beauty showed off her different side, portraying the role of a lunatic woman.

The video began with a back view of her character, Koo Kyung Yi, who dons an extreme reaction while playing a video game inside a dark room.

"Kill them all. Kill them all," she mentioned as the clip revealed the face of a woman.

The Hallyu queen looked unrecognizable as her character sports a sloppy aura with her messy hair and hunched shoulders.

Meanwhile, the next scene featured the actress popping out in a massive pile of garbage with trash sticking out on her hair.

This was followed by a scene where Koo Kyung Yi wore a thick blanket in the middle of the crowd, flashing a phrase that says "I'm not a crazy person."

Lee Young Ae's new drama is far from her usual roles where she portrays a royal physician or a history lecturer exuding elegance and charm in "Saimdang, Light's Diary."

Interestingly, the upcoming comedy thriller series heightens the viewers' curiosity about the actress' new character.

Inspector Koo Release Date, Cast, and Synopsis

Helmed by "Falsify" and Nobody Knows" PD Lee Jung Heum, "Inspector Koo" is an investigative comedy-thriller K-drama that focuses on the murder cases being investigated by Koo Kyung Yi, portrayed by the 50-year-old actress.

In the drama, Koo Kyung Yi is an insurance investigator who is passionate and eager to solve cold cases for the excitement it brings.

In addition, she also aims to bring justice, whether it's by hook or by crook.

The upcoming JTBC drama also stars "Kingdom" star Kim Hye Joon alongside Lee Hong Nae, "Hospital Playlist" actress Kwak Sun Young and Baek Sung Chul, who took on the role of Koo Kyung Yi's assistant named Santa.

Lee Young Ae's new drama "Inspector Koo" is scheduled to premiere in October and will be the latest comedy series that K-drama fans will look forward to.

JTBC Drops Inspector Koo Script Reading

The broadcast network shared a sneak peek of the cast as JTBC unveiled a series of photos during "Inspector Koo" script reading.

Cast members immersed themselves in their roles which is said to take place in May 2021.

According to multiple outlets, the production team introduced the upcoming K-drama, hinting that "Inspector Koo" is a "hard-boiled comedy chase series" highlighting the journey of Koo Kyung Yi.

"We will present a fresh thriller that no one has shown before. So, please stay tuned for this upcoming drama," the production team added.

The JTBC's new series will be Lee Young Ae's comeback to the small screen after four years.

Her last series was the 2017 historical romance drama "Saimdang, Light's Diary."
