Netflix unveiled the lead actors for the upcoming thriller series "Somebody," which stars Kim Young Kwang, Kang Hae Lim, Kim Yong Ji, and Kim Soo Yeon.
The new series is a refreshing combination of longtime actors and newcomers, sparking the curiosity and attention of the viewers.
Announced over the streaming giant's official Instagram, Netflix released a black and white poster revealing the lineup of stars for the new series.
"Somebody," a follow-up thriller surrounding social connecting apps," the caption reads.
Somebody Synopsis and What We Know So Far
Helmed by Jung Ji Woo, this will be the director's first work alongside Netflix.
He is the genius behind the movies such as "Modern Boy," "A Muse," and the 2016 sports-themed film "4th Place."
As for the story, "Somebody" is penned by "The Ghost Detective" screenwriter Han Ji Wan.
The upcoming Netflix K-drama is a thriller series that surrounds a social media app. It gives people the access to use the platform and have access to it with less sign-up authorization.
Moreover, it follows the story of the main character Sung Yun Oh, played by Kim Young Kwang, who acts as an interior designer by day and a sociopathic murderer at night.
In the series, Yun Oh never showed his face to his clients and would instead communicate with them via emails and apps.
Interestingly, he gets clients not by advertisement but through word of mouth or connections and often works independently.
His dark past might be a significant factor as to why he does such things. When he was an infant, he was adopted by a family overseas; unfortunately, the parents passed away due to an accident. He then inherited all the assets and moved back to South Korea to start again.
