The highly-anticipated Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Episode 9 finally aired on September 25, featuring the hilarious competition between Hong Doo Sik and Ji Seong Hyun (Kim Seon Ho and Lee Sang Yi, respectively) over Yoon Hye Jin's (Shin Min Ah) heart.
Also in the latest episode, Hong Doo Sik finally meets Yoon Hye Jin's father.
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Episode 9: Hong Doo Sik Meets Yoon Hye Jin's Father
In the previous episode, Yoon Hye Jin and Hong Doo Sik shared a tight and warm embrace after the dentist ran to the latter after sensing someone tailing behind her creepily.
As the two shared their romantic moment together, it was revealed that the man who was following Hye Jin home is actually a friendly neighbor who only wants to return the dentist's phone to her.
This leaves Hye Jin and Doo Sik with an awkward atmosphere. In Gongjin, gossip flies faster than light. However, when the Gongjn's resident Nam Sook (Cho Chung Hwa) teases the dentist with her complicated relationship, Hye Jin's father and stepmother experience shock after visiting their daughter in the seaside village.

To Hye Jin's father's horror, Doo Sik was in the dentist's home, fixing their broken shower. This sent Hye Jin's father the wrong message, enraging him.
Doo Sik then decides to pretend to be Hye Jin's boyfriend in order to get away from Yoon Tae Hwa's (Seo Sang Won) wrath.
Ji Seong Hyun Gets Worried About Hye Jin and Doo Sik's Fake Relationship
While Doo Sik and Hye Jin tour Tae Hwa and Myung Shin (Woo Mi Hwa) around the beautiful seaside village, they all bump into the producing director Ji Seong Hyun, who was taking a break from filming his new variety show.
With a professional job and excellent manners to elders, Tae Hwa instantaneously favored Seong Hyun. Because of this, Doo Sik felt inadequate and insecure, holding his peace to himself. However, it is not only Doo Sik who is insecure.

Pyo Mi Seon's Love Gets Rejected
In the previous episode, Pyo Mi Seon (Gong Min Jeung), Hye Jin's dental assistant and best friend has expressed her fondness to the charming police officer Choi Eun Cheol (Kang Hyun Seok).
In the latest episode, Mi Seon once again shows her brazen yet lovely personality as she confesses her feelings for the police officer and blatantly asks him out.
However, the police officer shares a different and a bit more old-fashioned sentiment about love, truthfully turns down poor Mi Seon's proposition. She becomes dejected and for the second time, cries of a man she adores.
Hye Jin's Father Disapproves of Doo Sik, Doo Sik Recalls Trauma
After knowing that Doo Sik is an orphan, Tae Hwa strongly disapproves of him for his daughter. Clearly, he prefers someone who has ambition, stability, and bigger dreams in life, like Ji Seong Hyun. This opens up Doo Sik's trauma, which has been giving him nightmares ever since.
Crestfallen, Doo Sik cries about his fear of losing everyone he loves. After his mother and father passed away, his grandfather whom he loved dearly left him alone in the world, too.
Because of this, Doo Sik blames himself, affecting his heart and mind that causes him troubles when sleeping.
Doo Sik and Seong Hyun's Competition of Love Intensifies
Interestingly, the new friendship between Doo Sik and Seong Hyun has been jeopardized with their common romantic interest in Hye Jin.
Although the two haven't vocally expressed their feelings for Hye Jin to one another yet, it is an unwritten understanding between the two, igniting a competition.
Before Hye Jin's father leaves the seaside village, Doo Sik earns his trust. Tae Hwa then finally gives his blessing to the young man, despite their rough start. With this, Doo Sik decides to give his heart a chance.
On the other hand, Seong Hyun, who is on his way to Seoul, takes a swift u-turn and goes back to Gongjin to confess his years of unsaid feelings to the beautiful dentist.
