Following the success of their Kdrama Squid Game, Lee Jung Jae and Lee Yoo Mi are confirmed to make their red carpet walk at the Gangneung International Film Festival.
Lee Yoo Mi and Lee Jung Jae, two of the Squid Game cast members consistently gaining popularity because of the series, will join the lineup of big stars in the opening ceremony of GIFF on October 22.

According to the film festival, the news about Lee Jung Jae and Lee Yoo Mi attending the event is expected to greatly affect the success of the Gangneung International Film Festival as well as to arouse global interest.
A GIFF official shared that they already invited the cast to their upcoming event even before Squid Game became a global success. The representative added that as the series gained great popularity around the world, Lee Jung Jae and Lee Yoo Mi's appearance is expected to have a more positive impact on the film festival.

Jo In Sung, Han Ye Ri and More to Participate at the GIFF Opening Ceremony
Aside from the two Squid Game stars, some prominent actors will also walk on the red carpet and participate in the opening ceremony of the film festival. This includes Escape from Mogadishu star Jo In Sung, Jung Woo Sung, Ryu Seung Ryong, Gong Seung Yeon, Minari actress Han Ye Ri, Kim Min Jae, Jeon No Min, Yang Dong Geun, Ye Ji Won, Lim Won Hee, Ahn Sung Ki, and more.
This 2021 marks the third anniversary of the Gangneung International Film Festival. It will be held from October 22 to 31 at the Gangneung Art Center, CGV Gangneung, Gangneung Independent Arts Theater Shinyoung, Myeongju Art Madang and Daehohobugwana Theater.
There will be a total of 116 works from 42 countries to be presented in the event.
