Alec Baldwin has expressed fears that his MSNBC show, “Up Late With Alec Baldwin” will be axed and not be back on air after all.
MSNBC issued a two-week suspension on Baldwin’s show at about the same time he was caught hurling gay slurs against a photographer early in the week.
And shortly after the announcement was made, The Hollywood Reporter noted that the actor and TV host went on air to express uncertainty of his own show.
"Whether the show comes back at all is at issue right now," Baldwin began, according to THR, citing an article the host wrote on his Huffington Post blog.
He continued comparing the fate of his show to other TV programs.
"But if the show dies, its fate ends up being no different than the vast majority of startup TV programming, and so be it,” Baldwin added, said THR.
The “30 Rock” star also said that his show was able to beat CNN in terms of ratings.
He noted, “We do take a small amount of pride in knowing that we beat CNN in the ratings each of our nights. (I forget who they had on at that time.)"
MSNBC suspended Baldwin’s “Up Late” for two weeks and the show is reportedly going back on air on Nov. 29.
The TV host and actor has made the headlines and faced backlash after his confrontation with the photographer was caught on camera and made its way online.
