JTBC's new action comedy-drama "Inspector Koo" starring Lee Young Ae, Kim Hye Joon, Kim Hae Sook, Kwak Sun Young, and Cho Hyun Chul, held an online conference to which the main stars attended.

The actors revealed their honest thoughts and reasons for choosing the new Saturday and Sunday drama.

JTBC's newest action comedy-drama "Inspector Koo," is a comic mystery drama that follows Koo Kyung Yi, played by Lee Young Ae, an amazing insurance investigator who was once a police officer, who winds up facing a female college student who is actually a notorious serial killer.

Lee Young Ae, a veteran in the industry, said that the weirdness of the drama led her to confirm her appearance on the project.

She reasoned, "It was weird and unique, I felt like it got stuck in my head because I kept on reading the script over and over."

The actress also said that she had a lot of fun filming it, raising expectations. She continued, "Even the filming part was fun. It's been a while since I did a drama after I got married. I think if I enjoyed it myself, the viewers would, too."

"I will show everyone a new side of Lee Young Ae," she said with conviction, applying anticipation.

On the other hand, attention is focused on Lee Young Ae's acting performance in the 2021 action comedy after being inactive for a long time.

Apart from Lee Young Ae, Kim Hye Joon, Kim Hae Sook, Kwak Sun Young, and Cho Hyun Chul are also part of the drama.

Kim Hye Joon, who appeared in "Kingdom" and "Matrimonial Chaos," plays the role of the mysterious college student Kei. When asked about the drama, she said, "Since my previous acting roles were heavy, I will show my bright and unpredictable side in "Inspector Koo"."

The actress also expressed her enthusiasm for working with the veterans, saying, "At first, I was entertained to play Kei. But then, I was worried. It is such an honor to act with Lee Young Ae and Kim Hae Sook, so I took on the role without hesitation. I'm quite nervous working with such big stars. It's an honor."

On the other hand, "Start-Up" and "Hospital Playlist" actor Kim Hae Sook, who plays charity foundation Director Yong, said, "I feel refreshed after reading the script. My character in this drama is also kind of weird."

She shared that she had worked with Lee Young Ae in a more normal drama in the past and meeting her in a weird drama creates an ambiguous relationship, "I'm excited to work with her again this time in this challenging role," she continued.

Last but not least, the brilliant mind behind "Inspector Koo" also shared his thoughts on the drama. Director Lee Jung Heum said, "It is indeed a weird drama. We experienced a lot of unexpected things while filming for five months."

The director revealed that things didn't go according to plan during the drama filming. Despite that, they are grateful that they wrapped up the pre-production successfully.

Director Lee Jung Heum encouraged the viewers to anticipate the drama and raised expectations by saying, "The viewers might be confused [with the drama] at first but as they keep watching, they'll see the bigger picture that the writers are drawing. We ask that viewers not get disconcerted at the first 30 minutes of the first episode."

Moreover, "Inspector Koo" is scheduled to air for the first time on JTBC on October 30 at 10:30 p.m. KST. It will also be available for worldwide streaming on Netflix.
