Lee Sang Yi to possibly join the cast of Netflix's "Hunting Dogs" alongside Kim Sae Ron.
After outlets recently confirmed that "The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim" is the female lead for the upcoming tvN Kdrama, the 29-year-old actor is the latest celebrity cast as one of the main characters.
Meanwhile, the actor's agency responded that they are currently reviewing the casting offer.
Netflix's 'Hunting Dogs' Release Date, Cast and What We Know so Far
The upcoming series is based on the webtoon of the same name written by Jeong Chan.
Interestingly, the action noir Kdrama follows the story of three men who are cash strapped and need money to cover up their ballooning debt.
Being debt-ridden, they were forced to start their hunt for dirty money.
Helmed by "The Divine Fury" and "Midnight Runners" director Kim Joo Hwan, "Hunting Dogs" is an eight-episode series which will be co-produced by Seed Films and Studio N.
Apart from Lee Sang Yi and Kim Sae Ron, the cast includes Park Sung Woong, who previously confirmed his appearance, while Woo Do Hwan is still in talks about the casting offer.
If the "Youth of May" star agrees to officially join the "Hunting Dogs" cast, this will be his next small-screen project after starring in the blockbuster hit Kdrama, "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha."

Lee Sang Yi on the Success of the Healing Kdrama' Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha'
Lee Sang Yi took on the role of famous variety show PD Ji Sung Hyun and a former schoolmate of Yoon Hye Jin, played by Shin Min Ah.
Unfortunately, he got intertwined in a love triangle between the lady dentist and Gongjin native Hong Doo Shik, portrayed by Kim Seon Ho.
After wrapping the beloved healing Kdrama on October 17, Lee Sang Yi expressed his deep gratitude to viewers for their overwhelming response during the broadcast of "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha."
At the time, he shared that he was "grateful to spend time with warm people in the warm village of Gongjin."
Moreover, he also took the opportunity to thank the whole team, especially PD Yoo Je Won, for letting him play the role of Ji Sung Hyun and to screenwriter Shin Ha Eun.
Of course, he is also grateful to his co-stars Shin Min Ah and Kim Seon Ho for successfully concluding the drama with a happy heart.
Lee Sang Yi's Previous Drama
Besides "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha," fans would recognize Lee Sang Yi in several remarkable Kdramas.
After debuting in 2017 appearing as one of the supporting characters in KBS "Manhole," he also starred in "Prison Playbook" as the villain Sergeant Oh Dong Hwan as well as "The Third Charm" and "When the Camellia Blooms."
However, he got his first-ever lead role in the melodrama "Youth of May" with Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si, and Geum Sae Rok.
