Gong Myung’s Agency Saram Entertainment Announces the ‘Lovers of the Red Sky’ Star’s Enlistment Date

Gong Myung's agency, Saram Entertainment, officially announced the upcoming military enlistment of the actor.

According to an outlet, the management released their statement revealing the enlistment date of the "Lovers of the Red Sky" star.

"Gong Myung is scheduled to enlist as an active-duty soldier on December 14," Saram Entertainment said; however, in lieu of the health crisis, details such as the location and time of admission have not been disclosed.

In addition to Gong Myung's military enlistment, the label also asked the fans for their "warm support" for the actor as he fulfills his duties,

"As a citizen of the Republic of Korea, we ask for your warm support for Gong Myung, who will return after faithfully fulfilling his military duty."

On November 5, multiple outlets revealed that the former member of 5urprise is gearing up to prepare for his enlistment as a public service worker.

Moreover, reports also state that his upcoming military duties had to be adjusted to give way to the production of his recent Kdrama with SBS.

While rumor sparked regarding his enlistment, Saram Entertainment explained that they had not received a notice of his plans and "nothing has been decided regarding his military enlistment" at the time.

Now that his label confirmed Gong Myung's military enlistment, several fans have mixed reactions towards this.

Some gave their well-wishes, while others hinted that they were a bit heartbroken that he had to pause his career amid his rising fame.

Apart from the "Be Melodramatic" star, fellow 5urprise member Seo Kang Joon and "Racket Boys" actor Son Sang Yeon recently confirmed their enlistment this year.

Gong Myung started his acting career in 2013 after landing the web Kdrama

"After School: Lucky or Not" together with his boy group and Kim So Eun.

It was then followed by a supporting role in "Infinite Power," "Splendid Politics," and the second season for "After School: Lucky or Not."

Gong Myung's recent show was the SBS' "LOvers of the Red Sky," where he took on the role of the Grand Prince Yang Myung with lead stars Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Yoo Jung.

Not only is he a good actor, but he also captivates the fans with his wit in the tvN variety show "House on Wheels 3."
