Industry representatives confirmed the much-awaited team-up of Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun in the upcoming Kdrama "The Glory."

After months of discussion, the actors officially agreed to headline the cast of the new series penned by the renowned screenwriter Kim Eun Sook.

The forthcoming melodrama series is the Hallyu star's reunion with Kim Eun Sook, who wrote her 2016 blockbuster Kdrama "Descendants of the Sun."

On the other hand, this will be Song Hye Kyo's first time working alongside the "Youth of May" actor.

Interestingly, the drama representative gave updates regarding the release of "The Glory," announcing that Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun's new Kdrama will also be released on Netflix.

"Recently, the schedule for the drama 'The Glory' has been decided. It will be shown to viewers around the world as a Netflix original," as mentioned by the official.

In addition, the team will start their production in January 2022 following the confirmation of lead stars and will be produced under Hwa & Dam.

In addition, the production company also noted that the "Encounter" star is taking a brief break before filming "The Glory." At the same time, Lee Do Hyun is scheduled to begin his shoot after wrapping up his current series "Melancholia" with Im Soo Jung.

Helmed by "Stranger" and "Memories of Alhambra" director Ahn Gil Ho, the upcoming Kdrama focuses on the sad revenge story of a high school girl named Moon Dong Eun, played by Song Hye Kyo.

She dreams of becoming a skilled architect but was put on hold and forced to drop out of school after suffering from harassment and school violence.

Years have passed, the victim meets her perpetrator's kid and becomes their homeroom teacher.

The intriguing scenes will stimulate the viewer's curiosity on how she will get her revenge.

Meanwhile, Lee Do Hyun took on the role of the free-spirited Joo Yeo Jung, who will be Moon Dong Eun's means of revenge instead of being the typical prince charming.

Hwa & Dam Pictures previously noted that "The Glory" will have multiple seasons, with the first season having a total of eight episodes.

On the other hand, the production company also hints at the intense chemistry of the two lead stars.

"'The Glory' will contain the interesting storyline of writer Kim Eun Sook, the perfect acting transformation of Song Hye Kyo, and the powerful and delicate production of director Ahn Gil Ho so that everyone can look forward to it," Hwa & Dam Pictures said.

As for Lee Do Hyun, fans witness his variation as an actor in his latest series, "Melancholia," airing every Wednesday and Thursday.
