From 'Train to Busan' to Hollywood

Ma Dong Seok has been in the industry after debuting in 2007 with the movie "The Worst Guy Ever" and the action-packed Kdrama "H.I.T."

He first started as a personal trainer for mixed martial arts, which explains his impressive combat skills in movies, but after attending college in the United States, he returned to Korea to pursue his love for acting.

Although he made a slew of movies and tv series, the mega-hit K-zombie film "Train to Busan" skyrocketed his fame.

The post-dystopian movie stars Gong Yoo, Jung Yu Mi, "Parasite" actor Choi Woo Shik and more.

Right after starring in "Train to Busan," the South Korean star landed on several notable films, including "Outlaws," "Along with the Gods," and his latest, "Ground Zero."

Interestingly, the movie "The Eternals" became his Hollywood debut, where he met big stars like Angelina Jolie.

In one of his interviews, he revealed that despite seeing his co-stars once or twice before the start of the production, they became like a real family later on and built a strong friendship with the "Wanted" star and Salma Hayek.

"We soon became like family. Like good friends or family members, we were always considerate of one another throughout filming," he said, calling it an "amazing experience."
