‘My Roommate Is a Gumiho’ Star Hyeri Warns Legal Action Against Online Harassment and Malicious Posts

Girl's Day Hyeri responds to malicious posts and personal attacks against her. Through the actress' agency, Creative group ING, the label reveals plans to take legal actions to halt scathing remarks online.

In an official statement, Hyeri's agency mentioned that there had been a "surge in malicious posts" targeting the "My Roommate is a Gumiho" star.

The said online posts include "libel, personal attacks, sexual harassment, and defamation of character," which they will not condone.

Although they are well aware of "freedom of expression," Creative group ING is looking into taking legal steps through their representatives to address these types of attacks.

"We have decided that the actions of certain individuals who have continuously targeted Hyeri with groundless malicious posts have gone beyond the level where we can just stand by and watch," said the agency adding "We are therefore informing you that we will be taking legal action in response to these posts."

Lastly, the management dropped a warning, sharing that they will continuously monitor the actions by gathering evidence to support their claims.

"Will be making a firm response without leniency," Hyeri's agency added.

It's not revealed as to why the "Reply 1988" star has been receiving hateful comments online, but her fans are virtually expressing their support for the actress.

The controversy comes ahead of Hyeri's new drama, "Moonshine" with "I am Not a Robot" star Yoo Seung Ho, Kang Mi Na and Byeon Woo Seok.

Directed by "Doctor Prisoner" PD and the upcoming historical rom-com series is slated to premiere on December 20, airing every Monday and Tuesday on KBS.

"Moonshine" is set during the Joseon dynasty, under the era where the strictest prohibition of laws transpired.

Lee Hyeri took on the role of a struggling aristocrat named Kang Ro Seo, who supports her family by making illegal alcohol.

She is set to face Joseon's extraordinary inspector Nam Young, played by Yoo Seung Ho, who is known for living a principled life.

With this, the production team hints about Hyeri's chemistry with Seo Ye Hwa's character Geum Yi, Kang Ro Seo's best friend, who grew up as a government slave but worked in a medical institution and is responsible for treating commoners.

They pointed out the duo's teamwork that transpired through the drama by "delivering pleasant energy to viewers."

'My Roommate Is a Gumiho' Star Jang Ki Yong Sent Hyeri a Food Truck on the Set of 'Moonshine'

Fans are looking forward to Hyeri's return to Kdrama after headlining "My Roommate Is a Gumiho" with Jang Ki Yong.

During the production of her new series, the South Korean heartthrob sent his support for her former co-star by sending her a food truck.

Over Hyeri's Instagram, she expressed her gratitude towards Kang Ji Yong, saying how she enjoyed the coffee "that the old man sent," referring to his 999-year-old nine-tailed fox character, Shin Woo Yeo.
