The new historical drama follows the unconventional story of illegal alcohol-brewer Kang Ro Seo (Girl's Day Hyeri) and principled Joseon inspector Nam Young (Yoo Seung Ho), who fall in love with each other despite their contrasting differences.
During the interview, the cast shared their thoughts on taking on the new KBS2 historical drama. Yoo Seung Ho, who appeared in "Queen Seondeok" and "Warrior Baek Dong Soo," said that historical dramas have a different charm than modern dramas.
Although there is a lot to prepare before filming, the actor enjoys immersing himself in such dramas. According to him, he is "a little bit addicted" to historical dramas.
On the other hand, "Moonshine" marks Girl's Day Hyeri's first ever historical drama. According to the actress, she thought that the drama was intense after seeing the title.
"When I started filming, there were a lot of scenes where I was being chased, or I was chasing someone," Hyeri added with a laugh, "It's a fusion of acting and comedy with a hint of friendship and youth that anyone can enjoy."
Meanwhile, Byun Woo Seok, who transforms into the handsome and rebellious alcoholic crown prince Lee Pyo, expresses his happiness in working in the new drama. He first appeared in the JTBC historical drama "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency."
When asked about his preparations for the role, he shared, "I gave attention to Lee Pyo's expressions and mischievousness. Also, I'm a lot happier because I get to play the role of the crown prince this time."
Like Hyeri, fellow idol-turned-actress Kang Mi Na challenges herself with her first ever historical drama. She plays Han Ae Jin, the beautiful daughter of the high-ranking noble family.
