B1A4's Jinyoung is reportedly in talks to headline "Sweet Home 2" together with Song Kang.

Released in 2020, the dystopian Kdrama, which stars the "Nevertheless" actor, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Si Young, Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si and more, became a major hit not just in Asia but worldwide.

As Netflix gears up for the series' second installment, an industry representative revealed that the "Police University" star might possibly join the series.

According to Sports Chosun, the singer-actor is considered as one of the lead stars for "Sweet Home" Season 2; however, there are no updates about his character.

This 2021 B1A4's Jinyoung proved his versatility as an actor after starring in "Police University" with Kyrstal Jung and Cha Tae Hyun.

The KBS rom-com series is his comeback drama after starring in the 2019 "My First First Love 2."

Fortunately, fans have many reasons to welcome 2022 as the 30-year-old heartthrob is set to return to the small screen with the much-awaited sequel of "Sweet Home."

IN CASE YOU MISSED: Song Kang to Possibly Join 'Sweet Home 2'

In the second half of 2021, rumor sparked that Netflix is set to release the second season of the dystopian series, with some of the original cast reprising their roles.

On October 6, JTBC News cited that Park Gyu Young and Lee Si Young are the only OG cast who will return for "Sweet Home 2" and would cast other stars to complete the lineup.

Due to this, fans expressed their disappointment over social media, pointing out that the series will never be the same again without the original cast, especially Song Kang.

At the time, the Hallyu star's name immediately became a trending topic on social media as viewers complained about the actor being excluded from the much-awaited season.

To recall, Song Kang took on the role of a loner high school student, Cha Hyun Soo, whose parents were killed in a car accident.

Due to this, he moved into the Green Home Apartments, where he met his fellow survivors when Seoul was rundown by mysterious creatures

Months after the cast update of the upcoming season, Song Kang's agency, Namoo Actors, revealed that the actor is courted to star and reprise his role in the much-awaited sequel.

"It is true that we are in discussions about it, but nothing has been confirmed yet," a representative from the management said.

Despite still being in talks, fans are looking forward to seeing Song Kang play Cha Hyun Soo.

Interestingly, as Netflix and the drama complete the lineup of cast, reports noted that "Sweet Home" season 2 is set to begin their production next year; however, the target premiere date is yet to be confirmed.
